| The Royal Burgh of Crail is
situated in the historic and picturesque East Neuk of Fife just south of St
Andrews. The Burgh is famous for its medieval market and sandstone cottages with
pantile roofs and crowstep gables. Winding streets descend to the most
photographed and painted harbour in Scotland where fishing is still a way of
life. This is an ideal location for painting due to the clear light and the fact
that Crail enjoys one of the driest climates in the UK. A famous haunt of
Scottish Colourists, all the famous painting spots are only a few minutes walk
away from the studio. Tourist attractions in the area include country parks,
castles, museums, golf courses, sporting activities and country and coastal
walks. |
